100 facts about me (Laura)

I saw this on a friend's blog (thanks Shannan) and thought I would do the same on mine. Since I was too lazy to think of my own facts, I decided to use what she did and just change my answers. Maybe I will be reading 100 facts about my friends in their blogs... hint hint :)



1. I am the first of three children; girl, girl, boy.

2. I will turn 28 this year (September)

3. My birthday is on 9/11, which was never very interesting until my 20th birthday.

4. My favorite color is green but I'm also a big fan of pink.

5. I love almost all kinds of music but some favorites are probably Christian, Country, bluegrass, jazz, classical, Celtic, and whatever the era with Ella Fitzgerald, and Bing Crosby, and them is called, but then I also do really like a few select others: John Legend, the Fray, Ne-Yo... like I said I really love a lot of types of music and pandora.com is great for discovering all kinds of people!

6. I don't have a favorite band because there are way to many bands that I like and it really depends on the mood I'm in for what I'll listen to.

7. In heaven I'm going to see a lot of people that I miss.

8. I love to travel and need to do it more.

9. I have never been to Hawaii but I will soon... I think I can... I think I can... I think I can!

10. I don't love planes but I love where they take me!

11. I traveled with Madeline once when she was 6 months to Virginia and it went great. We are about to embark on another plane ride with her when we go to California in May - we'll see how it goes.

12. When I took her to Virginia it was without Matt, but in May it will be with him.

13. I love to cook.

14. I love to bake.

15. I wish baking were low-cal but usually low-cal means yucky.

16. I wish baking powder & baking soda were not so yucky tasting - when you have to much of it in a recipe it's gross.

17. I am trying to finish several books and a cross-stitch that I've been working on for a few years.

18. I am more deeply in love with my husband. Love definitely changes from wild lust to soul mate deep affection the longer you are together. (We'll have our 6th year anniversary in July.)

19. My phone ring is: Take Me There by Rascal Flatts.

20. I wish I could sew.

21. I wish I had more time to play the piano.

22. I have my great-great grandma's piano... it's old!

23. I don't know anything about spreadsheets or excel.

24. I did not import this from a spreadsheet but copied it from my friend Shannan's blog.

25. I love to eat at nice restaurants.

26. I have a thing for reality shows and most anything on Discovery Health and TLC.

27. I don't follow Hollywood stuff at all.

28. I hope that someday I will be a mom of 4.

29. I am scared to get pregnant again because I've had 3 miscarriages :(

30. My favorite vacation was probably our trip to Puerto Vallarta last June. As much as I loved our honeymoon to St. Thomas, I just was even more deeper in love for this last trip and we did make a ton of great friends while we were there!

31. I love cheese!!! All kinds!!!

32. I love fondue. The best was the smoked cheddar at Urban Fondue.

33. I was never an exchange student and never had a desire to be one although I remember wishing that we could take one in while I was living at home.

34. I took 5 years of Spanish but because I'm not using it, I'm losing it.

35. I'd love to go to Sweden - I'm Swedish.

36. My favorite class in college was probably the one I had with Matt :) or anything that Margi Macy taught :)

37. I started college George Fox University and graduated from there 3 1/2 years later.

38. My degree is in Early Childhood/Elementary Education - which has come in handy with parenting.

39. I can read/write some Spanish.

40. I don't like Indian food.

41. I secretly always wanted a little girl while I was pregnant with Madeline although I tried to convince myself it was a boy so I wouldn't be disappointed if it wasn't a girl.

42. I was the first in my (immediate) family to graduate from college.

43. Most of my college was discounted because my mom worked there, but parents paid for most of the rest - THANK YOU. I'm not using my El. Ed. degree, only my MRS and MOM degree ;)

44. My scholarships were mostly academic.

45. I think dark wavy hair is pretty, but of course if I had it I'd probably want straight blond hair - right? The grass is always greener on the other side!

46. If you put cream cheese in with Salsa, it makes a tasty appetizer with chips in a flash!

47. My dream job always has been being a mom - thanks Madeline!

48. I lip-synced only twice ever and it was after a few drinks :) I don't think I would do it otherwise.

49. I loved college but wasn't a big fan of high school.

50 I my 10 year reunion will be next year - if it happens.

51. I love a nice yard - but I think I will love acres even more - we are looking...

52. I love hanging flower baskets in the summer.

53. I hate how much hanging flower baskets cost and therefore rarely by them.

54. Yard work is therapeutic for me if Matt has already picked up the dog poop.

55. I love shopping and having a little girl makes it even harder because there is way to much cute girl clothes!

56. I love date nights and need more of them!

57. Last night was watching Valkyrie.

58. I haven't played very many video/computer games but I did really get into Sim City on the computer when I was younger.

59. I love the game Apples to Apples.

60. We have way too many remotes.

61. I like salty and sweet; depends on my mood.

62. I am a late person, but continually working on it.

63. I am not at peace until my house is clean.

64. My car is clean.

65. I need a new hub cab and windshield for my car.

66. I love & highly appreciate good sound systems.

67. I can't wait to have another baby so that hopefully I'll have to get new car!

68. I wish I could sing better.

69. I fear that Madeline will have a hard time having a healthy body image in today's society.

70. I love to listen to Madeline pronounce new words.

71. I love listening to Madeline laugh hysterically.

72. I would love to be about 5'7'' or 5'8''.

73. I love to be around people - I'm a people person.

74. I was raised Milwaukie, OR.

75. I have a new niece or nephew coming in August.

76. I have a yummy-cooking family.

77. My brother and sister are very loving people.

78. Because I am a first born I am very competitive but I am trying to get better about not thinking that I have to be best at everything.

79. I have a hard time with letting others be right, but I do try... sometimes. Matt is a first born too...

80. I don't think the democrats and republicans will ever be friends.

81. I don't think it will be too long before cars will be fueled by other sources.

82. I love being married to country boy - so sexy. He grew up out in the country and we are really trying to get back out there!

83. I want a horse.

84. Being an event planner is stressful because I am a perfectionist.

85. I am a instructor and event planner for Stroller Strides.

86. I used to be a substitute teacher in special education before Madeline.

87. I knew I was pregnant with Madeline before I ever took a test - my symptoms were obvious!
88. I hate dirty floors. I vacuum and swiffer everyday.
89. My floors are clean right now I swiffered this morning.
90. If I had a million dollars I have no clue what I'd do with it.
91. I love diamonds and was so excited to find out that my daughter's birthstone was a diamond!
92. I am shocked to see Madeline already being really interested in jewlery.
93. I love perfume and want more.
94. I used Crest Whitening Strips before my marriage and would like to use them again.
95. I am shocked what a baby can do to your body and I wonder if I'll ever look anywhere near the same.
96. I don't have a desire to ever have any cosmetic surgery done to my body and doubt I ever will. I'm not crazy about my nose, but I don't think it's bad enough for surgery.
97. I have a really hard time keeping track of my chapstick.
98. I need new chapstick - I don't like the Burts Bee's that I have.
99. I despise bad customer service but at the same time I understand when the person I am talking to has no control over the rules that have been set.
100. I love looking in people's windows when I'm driving by and I always wonder what their life is like.

Learned some new stuff about you....didn't know you were swedish, but definitely knew you loved clean floors. I hope that democrats and republicans can be friends....it would make things a little easier. :)
