Our trip to California

Here's the start to our fabulous trip to southern California! Madeline eating breakfast in the back of the car on the way to the airport.Madeline and daddy playing in the water. It was foggy every morning. It didn't warm up until just before lunch time.
She wasn't a huge fan of going in, the water was a little cold.

It was really pretty, and good waves. There were several surfers around.
Mommy and me.
Cheese!
I like this one!
Not sure what I did to the camera to get it to turn blue for the next few shots...
Walking up the beach.

Day of the wedding (we went to Cali for Brent's wedding - a friend from college). Daddy was in the wedding - getting pics taken, so we walked around the church and found this handy playground.
Through the tunnel.
They gave out these fun fans with the programs.
Madeline hitting the dance floor - started with the "lay down and show my diaper dance."
Interesting...
Ok, time to stand up and dance.
She found a friend. I'm not sure it was a mutual friendship - I think she was bugging the girl.
She wouldn't stop touching her.
Brent and Katie Hiebert.
The Holts.
On to Sea World. We got to pet the manta rays!
Then we went to the whale show.
It was pretty impressive! Daddy is such a good photographer!
Madeline and Joey waiting for the dolphin show to start.
One of the trainers with the dolphins.
Can you see the dolphin touching the flag? They could jump so high!
Madeline showing me the starfish.
She loved Sea World even more than I thought she would.
Madeline and Joey running in the grass.
I couldn't go on Atlantis since I'm pregnant, but neither could the 2 year olds, so I got to stay with them. I waited and waited to get a picture of them coming down the water slide, but I took it too soon :(
Natalie, Jake, Matt, and the 3 older boys on the ride.

We had a great time!

Mother's Day Weekend

Here are a few silly pictures of Madeline before we get to the Mother's Day (Jenna's Shower) ones. So for some reason a lot of the times, when we try to take her picture, she always wants to pose like this:Almost over night, after her 2nd birthday, she turned into to this boisterous, silly little thing!
I think this was in the morning, hense the crazy hair.

On to Jenna's (Matt's sister) shower. Saturday, May 10th, the day before Mother's Day. We are so excited that little Carter is on the way!

Madeline helped out with the presents - almost half of them until she got bored.

Opening the present we gave her - a bouncy seat.

Madeline like choosing which present she would open next.

Opening the card...

Her room theme is dinosaurs.
Presents are so much fun!
She wasn't very patient. When Jenna had half of one open, she would ask for another.
I tried to get her to look at me for a few pictures, but that can be very difficult.

What is it?

I think this is about the time she started to get bored, and silly!

She liked the duck off one of the presents.
Show me the duck.

The house that we were at had an absolutly beautiful yard and this great big pond with fish and a frog. Madeline kept wandering back there to check it out.
Trying to get in the chair by herself. Now that she's two, I hear, "I do it." for everything!
Silly Monkey!

"Mmm... this is a good cracker!"
Is this your tough girl face?
This new level of exploratory defiance has set in... "what will it feel like if I shove this leave stem up my nose?... and let me make sure to look at mom while I'm doing this because she probably doesn't want me to do this."
The punch was great!

This was a great box to play in, and it kept her entertained for awhile.

"Let me show you my two-year-old claws!"
I think she's saying "I love YOU mom, happy mother's day." :)

So we actually forgot to take mother/daughter mother's day pictures the next day... we'll have a little photo shoot later today when dad gets home. I hope you all had a very special mother's day!
